Doesn't finger-scroll any more, but point click and drag ok

Scrolling using the finger doesn’t work anymore, but I can still point at a scrollbar and drag it around. On the same computer, another Magic Mouse doesn’t show this issue. Is it a hardware problem that can be repaired?

Thanks

Franco

Did the batteries leak? There is a connector near the battery contacts as you can see here

See if the corrosion has damaged things, which you might be able to clean off. Other than that there is very little you can fix here.

I have found out that finger scrolling works around the Apple logo, but doesn’t near the front, where the finger tip naturally stays…

In the battery compartment no leak is visible, and the batteries look ok (they are still the original Apple batteries, I’ve two sets of them). Will open the mouse and check…

Thanks
