Can't load OS after HD replacement

Hi. I just replaced my HD with a new SSD. When I boot it up, it seems like it goes into Internet Recovery. I can get to the spinning globe and it does something for 15 mins. while the progress bar fills up, but then gets stuck on the Apple logo and won’t do anything after that. Any ideas as to what might cause this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Do you have the system connected via Ethernet to the internet?

by

I think I have it figured out. After my original post I decided to try using an old wired keyboard and mouse and connected via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi. I was finally able to get to the disk utility menu, erase and format the drive, and then install the OS. Seems to be working well now. Thx

You could leverage your HDD using the Universal Drive Adapter then using a USB keyboard use the Option (⌥) key to get to the Startup Manager to select the HDD to boot from.

Then you can download a fresh copy of macOS installer your system needs. I strongly recommend sticking with Sierra How to upgrade to macOS Sierra jump down to Step 4 and click on the Blue URL link ‘Download macOS Sierra’ The reason you want to get this installer is Apple uses a certificate and your old installer likely has an expired one If you've got an old macOS install image, it will probably stop working today
