A1932 Won't Turn Off After Screen is Closed

I recently replaced a battery in a MacBook Air 13” 2018 A1932, and after installing everything back together, it appears that whenever you close the screen, the Macbook will not turn off/go to sleep. It also appears that when I open the screen, it will not Auto Boot even though Auto Boot is on using the terminal command. I am assuming there is something wrong with the magnet that tells the Mac that the screen is open/close but do these models even have a magnet like the older models or is there some other mechanism? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I left my Macbook on the floor for an hour, and the screen turning on/off somehow works now! I have no idea what happened, might have been a software issue of some sort…
