Second generation of iPhone. Model A1241 / 8 or 16 GB capacity / black or white plastic back. Repair is more straightforward than the first iPhone. requires screwdrivers, prying, and suction tools.

Options

Change of backhousing resulting in lack of charging.

I have changed the backhousing of my phone and was left with a tiny part from the phone. My phone cannot charge now and maybe that tiny part is the cause. i cannot figure out where the part is supposed to be?

The phone is working fine after i have assembled it, though it cannot charge. The phone does not react on the charging if i use a plug - if i connect the charger on a usb cable, the phone switches on (when switched off), though it does not charge.

Options

that part is the clip that holds the camera in place..not vital, you can leave it out if your camera is focusing fine. if images are blurred you might want to put it in just to hold the camera in its right position.As for the charging issue? turn your phone off and opn back up again.. check connector no.4 the dock connector, it may not be on fully.

Thank you for your answer, now i know what the clip is for, but my phone still won´t charge .. I check d connector no.4 as you told me, but it sit´s perfect .. the metal besides the mark" do not remove" is that suposed to sit on the "outside" of the middle frame, or do i have to press it "under" the midle frame. The metal comes from the motherboard, an connect to the middleframe, so i thord maybe that is somekind of Ground . ? ..

Anyway , i totally diassembled my phone and assembled it again , but with the same results , No charging but everything else works fine.

Any other god ideas than connector 4. ??

i allso triede another charger and another sync cable with same result .. :(
