Hi, I have a Samsung UE32f5000akxxu. I was watching tv and suddenly there was a loud bang and the power cut off. It does not switch back on. I have tried turning it off and on again from the back. Can anyone help? I don’t want to have to buy a new tv :(

It sounds like something shorted. It could be an easy fix but you might want to take it to a professional if you have no experience doing this kind of work.

Thanks. With the current lockdown, it will likely be difficult to get someone out to take a look, how would I fix it myself?
Unplug it and I would check YouTube for a video on how to open the tv and check the power board.

Is the TV standby light showing when the power is connected to the TV?
Disconnect the power from the TV and then remove the back cover and closely inspect the boards, especially the power board for any damaged or heat stressed components.
If you see something or even not take some close up images of the power board and post back here.
