webcam + microphone doesn't work UX490UA

Hi, I got my screen replaced on my UX490UA laptop from ASUS last year. However the buildin webcam + microphone doesn’t work. A microphone is dectected by windows 10 however it doesn’t react to sound. 2) Windows 10 doesn’t detect a webcam but HWINFO64 claims a CMOS cam is installed. What could the most likely cause of this problem be? Could the repair shop haven’t fitted the cable proberly ? If yes how does the webcam connector look? Is it found under the buttom panel ? Or under the keyboard?

Check settings in BIOS.

Does nothing appear for the mic of camera in Device Manager? Not even an unkown device?

Maybe just a driver issue.

The microphone appears, but the camera doesn't.

In Control Panel click on "Device manager",

look at the top menu bar for "Action" and

click on "Scan for hardware changes".

Look for anything with the yellow "!" or anything with a generic name.

If HWINFO64 found it then it is there and connected.

Go into the BIOS by pressing the "F2" key at power on and look for the camera.

I don't know this for sure but it could be switched off???

Hi, I had the same problem...and I manager to solve it by installing Windows 11 home edition. On the Pro edition the camera is nor detected even if I install the drivers. There was always an error. With Home edition everything is working fine!!!!
