Why won't my Switch Charge?

So my girlfriend recently purchased a Nintendo Switch online and I cannot figure out for the life of me why it won’t charge. Things I have tried are:

  • Replacing the Battery (Successfully, showed charged, but won’t recharge even with new battery).
  • Testing multiple USB-C cables, an off-brand, and an on-brand.
  • The console indicates that it’s charging but the number just falls to depletion.
  • When connected to the dock, it doesn’t make any difference and does show on the screen as it would on the tablet part.

My question is the fact that I have occurred the forums and tried everything but replacing the USB-C or any of the on circuit chips. Should I try replacing the USB-C connector? Since it is indicating that it is charging, but not actually charging means its more of a chip issue? Are most of the chips repaired with a heat gun?

Thank you in advance for all of your help/suggestions!

chips are replaced with a hot air station and soldering iron, if you have a multimeter check the fuse above the port. also if you have never done repairs like this before i would suggest taking it somewhere that repairs them as you could cause more damage

Check inside the charge port with light and magnification for damaged pins. Have a shop replace the charge port unless your confident with using a hot air station.
