Blu-Ray doesn't work anymore

My SONY VAIO VGNAW335J-H (1 and a half year old) blu-ray doesn't work. Was working perfect some months ago, but tonight I buy a new movie in blu-ray. When I try to see it on my notebook, the blue-ray does nothing. Tell me to insert a cd or dvd or bd but it's alrready there!!!

What happens?

Thank you in advance

You might want to uninstall the drive, restart your system. Also check the BIOS and see if it is recognized. You can try to get a driver for it from http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-lis... and see if that makes a difference. If not, you may have to think about replacing your drive. If you still have warranty on it, contact Sony and get them to help you with it.

Well, will all things tech, it's either a hardware or software problem. I would recommend re installing or updating your drivers for the device. If you're laptop is not covered under warranty, try buying a new blu ray drive off of amazon.

I have had this same problem and took it in to London Drugs where I bought it, to be repaired. The guy was great. He said that the problem is the Sony software upgrade is clashing with the disc drivers and causing it to not work. He did fix it for me - free of charge - but warned that each time there is a software update from Sony, the problem will arise again. If anyone knows of a more permanent fix, I would love to hear it.
