For the life of me I can not locate where the Camshaft position sensors are. I am told there are 2. Can someone please help with a detailed description on where I can find these?

I could not find the camshaft position sensor on my 2012 Kia Forte Ex and there is nothing online. But I found it finally. Here is the camshaft position sensor. And this car only has one. Again this is for a 2012 Kia Forte Ex. You have to remove the plastic piece from the top of the engine and the tube going to the air filter to gain access to the camshaft position sensor. I am pointing to exact part on the engine. You have to remove the plug and then wiggle your way to take off the screw, pull it, and replace with the new one. I used a 10mm socket. I hope this helps someone else cause there is NOTHING online for this exact car….until now

Actually, this car does have two if you look directly behind that one on the opposite side of the motor you'll find the other one and by opposite side of the motor I mean close to the firewall. The one that you're pointing at in the picture is the intake camshaft position sensor the one close to the firewall is going to be the exhaust camshaft sensor. I only know this because I literally just changed this on my daughter's car two days ago. Hope this helps

Kia forte ex 2012 have 2 position sensor

On the left side from the oxygen sensor you need remove 2 pieces of metal then you can remove the sensor

This come with long connections and go to the top on the motor

by

Oxygen sensor and cam shaft sensor are not the same..I've replaced both. One is called an Oxygen sensor and the other is a camshaft position sensor

by

He's right there is only one camshaft position sensor..... If there was 2 it wouldn't be away from the camshaft. Hence the word camshaft

by

But you do have camshaft position sensor and crankshaft sensor not to far from each other,

I was told that if you have a federal emission engine, you only have 1 camshaft sensor, the California emission engine has 2, one on each side of the engine.
