New display didn't come with accessories

I'm replacing the display on an iPad Mini 4. The original one was demolished and the home button was actually missing. I ordered the replacement screen from AliExpress among with a new home button, but neither came with the home button “riser” (thin plastic ring that goes on the glass first). Could I use one from an earlier iPad Mini?

That “riser” thing is generic, you can transfer from any iPads. What you also need is a rubber gasket which doesn’t usually come with replacement home button

You can get it cheaper elsewhere, or use salvaged ones with right cut-out

I would also add to remember to transfer magnets from the old to the new screen, they might go unnoticed unless one did the job before.

@arbaman good point! transfer magnets, sleep/wake sensor, etc. from old screen if new screen doesn't have them pre-installed.
