TV has no standby light. Powerboard was replaced, but won't turn on.

I recently received a used TV that won’t power on. It’s a Samsung model ln-t4061f. I’ve opened the unit up, and saw that a few capacitors on the board were bad. I replaced them, reinstalled the board, but the television still wouldn’t power on.

I then replaced the board entirely with a new purchase from Ebay, but it’s still not working. Is there anything else I can troubleshoot to better identify what the problem might be?

Tools I have:

  • Solder, iron, and copper wick
  • Multimeter
  • Two power boards
  • Basic screwdriver set
Answer this question I have this problem too

Tode, measure the voltage as it gets to the power board. Make sure that you have power to it. then check the IR board/power button board to make sure that it works as well as where it connects to the main board. Measure the voltages on the connectors against what is printed on the board and let us know what those values are. It is possible that your power board just does not receive signal from the main board to actually turn the TV on. Of course you can always try a different main board and see if that resolves the issue.
