My xbox wont show any video, just purple diagonal bars.

So my xbox started to loose it's graphics quality. The image started to get really blooming looking, like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLhb0BbYI...

But now it just shows a black screen with thin flashing purple bars. There is sound though. Any idea what's wrong with it or how I can fix it without shipping it back to Microsoft and paying the same price as buying a new xbox anyway?

Your GPU Chip has finally went out. If your xbox is of the older variety that is not the new slim and is less than 3 years old using it manufacture date on the back and you have no opened it up you can send in to MS for a free repair. If it older then 3 years of age then my advise it to sell it on ebay and just go get a new one. The older models that is pre Jasper were prone to GPU failure. If you go to

http://www.xbox-scene.com/

you can poke around there and find info on your console and get more expert advice. Just use their forums. There are even guys on there that will reflow your 360 for $60.00 I think plus shipping. Good Luck!!
