Can't connect to iPad software server

I tried updating the software on my iPad and I got an image-message for me to connect to iTunes. I plugged the iPad into my MacBook Pro and I get a message that says “Contacting the iPad software update server…” But it never connects! I can’t get any further. I’ve been trying for days. I’m so frustrated. I’d like to cancel the update, but I can’t get the image-message for me to connect to iTunes off of my iPad. My iPad seems to be stuck. I can’t even get it to turn off completely. Is there a way to get my iPad back to the way it was?

Hi Kathy,

If you are having issues contacting the Apple software update server in order to download latest iOS update to iTunes, you may find the following article helpful:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203213

Try to force boot iPad to see if it works to get out of the stuck loop.

I read this article and tried all the steps. It still won't connect to the server. iTunes recognizes my iPad and tries to connect to the server to get the update, but it never connects. It's just keeps scrolling.

Hi Kathy, so sorry it didn't help you, you can just take your device to a local service to do an examination.
