My 1994 Volkswagen Jetta will crank but won't stay running

Won't stay running unless foot is on gas and it's not the fuel pump or filter or pressure

tell us what happened before you get this problem and if it's a diesel or gasoline.

I'll suggest that you re-adjust the idle screw in the carburetor.

It's been like this since we bought it but getting worse since we almost ran out of gas and it backfires allot and gasoline and it doesn't have a carburator
