Why doesn't it turn on?

I got it as a fix it up and when i opened it up, it was corroded on the U7000, the U7400, the keyboard Connector and the u7200. The powerbutten does nothing. When I short the powerpads , nothing happends. (one powerpad has power ). The battery is ok and charges.

I tryed to desolder the U7000 but its stuck. (I tryed flux and different angles )

every tip would be helpfull.

Have you though of just replacing the logic board? In this case it maybe the cheaper solution MacBook Unibody (A1342) 2.26 GHz Logic Board

Desoldering is both having the correct tools as well as good technique. Using a soldering iron alone tends to be a harder as you need to work it differently than using a hot air workstation.

On smaller multi legged chips with a soldering iron with a larger tip (mass) I flood the pins with solder keeping them all wet and hot and then I can poke off the chip. This has its risks! As you might pull away other SMD devices near the chip either as you got hot solder on it directly or the heat softens the solder holding it and if you haven’t heated all the pins hot though you can rip a pad off. You still then still need to clean up the excess solder and if needed reposition the moved smaller SMD devices.

Larger chips really need a small nozzle rework station and I just prefer it over the flooding method. This is a costly tool! Even the cheapest is not something a weekend fixer can afford.

Thanks a lot for the answer.

I asked someone in my makerspace who told me he could do it for me. (We have a hot air station and a ultrasonic cleaner in 1 week)

The replacement isn't in stock in the Europe

Store and other replacements cost around 50 to 150 dollars.

I was really careful with the heat and nothing should be damaged. I thing that some corrosion is under the chip and I am going to use a ultrasonic cleaner to get it of.

@macmiggels U7000 has got a nice and big ground pad as it's working all the time when a power source or battery is connected. Unless you've done QFN replacements before I wouldn't recommend starting with that and hope to fix the board. I agree with @danj , a replacement would be the best solution and here in EU those boards are nowadays coming pretty cheap, although they are not new, be aware of that.
