Laptop won't connect to wifi

It didn't have my hp model as an option but it's a 15-ba049ca . It shows WiFi networks that are available and allows me to put my password in to connect but then it like stops. The available networks disappear and then reappear again but still won't let me connect. I have no idea how to fix this and would appreciate some guidance on what to do!

When you check the Network with your phone or another device, do you see the same signal intensity? like the same bars, if you see low signal in your computer and high signal in your phone, that can be a loose connection with the Wi-Fi antennas to the Wi-Fi Card.

It is the same intensity or my phone has one less bar. Is that still the same issue?

Maybe you need to reinstall the wireless driver.

I've done that unfortunately, I also updated them and still nothing

Hi Nicole,

  • First you need to download the latest drives but not install.
  • Now completely uninstalled the current driver and run something like Ccleanerto clean up any traces.
  • Reboot and then install the new driver.
  • Why this way? If there is a corrupt setting or the like re-installing, as expalined above, will just perpetuate the problem.
  • Let us know how it goes.

Hi Nicole

Have you tried to use a usb wireless dongle and try? it could be that your internal network card could be faulty, or a dry joint contact on the board.
