did you connect the battery cables correctly?

Yes I followed the tutorial. But I just checked everything again and turns out one of the metal pads on the motherboard where the battery is suppose to be soldered is gone. Does that affect it at all?

It can be that its works but you screen is dead. Try connecting to iTunes and see if it discovers it if it does its probably a screen issue. If it doesn’t work on iTunes then I would think it’s the logic bored. Its also possible that the batteries you bought come at 0% charged and your dock connector is broken so you cant charge it. So what I would recommend you to do first it to replace the screen. If that doesn’t work then let me know and we will work from there. Also it would be a good idea if you can get around 30 day free return on whatever you buy for your iPod touch because there is a big chance that you will have to return it.
