Keyboard Illumination doesn't work

Hello,

in my Dell E4310 I replaced the non-backlit keyboard with a backlit keyboard (have done that before with E6400, E6410 and E4300) but the backlight doesn't work

There is even no entry in the bios for the settings of the keyboard illumination!

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Tahmina from Pakistan

Hi,

According to the service manual in BIOS > System Configuration (p.3) there should be setting options for keyboard Illumination.

Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS version (if it is not already at the latest version) and check if the option is now available? (select BIOS in Category box)
