Why doesn't the phone react at all when the display is broken?

I’m currently disassembling an S6 and I’m sure that the display is dead, but why is it, that when the display is dead, nothing on the phone works/ won’t turn on? And is there a possibility of turning the phone on without display/ turning the phone on at all?

A way to tell if the rest of the phone is working besides the display is to connect it to a computer. If the computer recognizes the device, the motherboard and all of the other components are working.

It depends on the design of the logic, but some phones can be booted without a working display. If the manufacturer designed some sort of basic fault-check into the logic, then it might protect the system by refusing to power on when the screen is absent or shorted.
