Why isn't true tone display available with a iFixit replacement screen

So I recently replaced a broken iPhone 8 LCD and screen, buying parts from iFixit. After replacing the display and moving the home button from the original display to the new one, and updating to iOS 12 beta, I was able to get almost full functionality back to the device (touch ID wasn't working but is now currently). I have not been able to use true tone on the display, however.

Answer this question I have this problem too

The touch ID not working part, I’m guessing that’s just bad luck because I’ve done iPhone 8 screen replacements without losing touch ID (or needing update / restore).

For the True Tone that will only work if the display chip data (The chip behind screen under the rectangle silver plate) is copied from the screen the phone came with to the replacement screen.
