iPhone doesn't show up on any computer

iPhone 3g 16gb Black

i got an iphone from a friend and doesn't show up at any computer. he said he just clicked "reset all settings". iphone boots up with apple logo, nothing more.. and restarts itsef like every 5 mins.

it charges when i connect to the computer but doesn't show up at the computer

i tried with different computers and cables, other iphones shows up at the computers but this one doesn't. i changed the dock part (from another 3G) but still have the same problem.

with recovery mode (home button and cable in) recovery logo appears on the screen but doesn't show up at any computer

on dfu mode didn't show up at the computer either (i think i was succesfull putting into dfu mode, because apple logo didn't appear when i connected the cable or pushed the start button

Why would that be?

i know it is too much to read but i just wanted to be specific

we've all been new at one time..takes a bit of getting used to. when you got the phone was it only on the apple logo, wouldn't go to home screen or anything?

by

when you plug it in to wall charger does the charging symbol come on?

Chosen Solution

try uninstalling itunes and reinstalling, also try signing in as a new admin user on your computer. I'd try something like recboot or tinyumbrella to see if you can break the boot loop. Hopefully this will get the computer to see the iphone.. let us know how you get on.ps did your friend actually install ipad jb or did it fail?
