2k6 altima car won't rev above 2000 rpm in park or when in drive

2006 altima car won't rev above 2000 rpm in park or when in drive. just bought this car. pulled codes and catalytic came up this was pulled before present problem arose. replaced battery already (which was a 2 month old battery!) won’t go above 35 mph
