Camera got wet doesn't power up

I have a Canon SX50 HS or should I say I did have.

Stupidly, I left it out in the rain one night, got distracted by the kids.

Worked ok for a few weeks and then decided to give up the ghost.

Now it will not turn on.

I tried replacing the external battery, no luck.

I read on this site that cameras have an internal battery.

Does the Canon SX50 HS have an internal battery?

This happened a few months ago now and still doesn’t power up. So I suspect it will be dry inside now but some type of damage has been done.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

William Jackson  dry maybe but also corroded. you will have to disassemble Canon PowerShot SX50 HS your camera and clean it properly. Use some 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush then clean all the parts with it.

This should help you out aswell
