2 My iPhone won't turn on, will apple give me a new one
the thing is i don't have a warranty on it and I bought it off my friend about 8 month ego.

You likely won't get a new 3G out of Apple.
You can walk in to an Apple store and upgrade to a 3Gs for $49 with a 2 year contract from ATT. Or a iPhone 4 at $199 on Verizon or ATT.
Good luck repairing your 3G for less than that, but a repair would save you the cost of a new contract.
*Apple will look at it for free though.*

It's a model that's 2 generations old and you bought it second-hand. No, I doubt Apple will give you a new one.
However, if you'd like help to FIX it, that's what we do here (thus the name of the site). Give us more information and maybe we can save it yet!
