KDL-52EX701 - No image.video (including menus) - Sound OK,

Powers on fine, normally, including Beep, Green light.

Can hear the audio of the programs ( from Cable box via HDMI)

Screen is "on" and is dark blue.

I have searched through the forums and it seems like others have reported this.

I have opened and can not see any damaged components, Caps, etc.

Other posts mention A,B and C boards - but which is which? There is the I/O singnals board, the power board ans the T-con ( ?) the small control shielded board connecting to the LCD display.

I had found other info regarding a fuse (F101 on my board) -- my fuse was good. ( 0.2 Ohms).

Hello … OK almost 2 weeks…. if you are still there here is the data - so me the power looks fine.

I can take readings on the power board, but the Main board connectors are not labeled. So to say all of of the power reaches the main board, I can not see how to do this.

On the Power Board connectors

[image|1506523] (I have identified the Power, Main and T-Con)

Here are the V readings on the Power board side- relative to chassis

T-con on = 3.35

T-con Vcc = 12.65

Dimmer_DC = 3.35

Dimmer = 1.56

BL_ON = 3.07

BL_err = 0.00

Reg 12V = 12.66

Reg 12V = 12.66

Reg 12V_GND = 0.00

Reg 12V_GNG = 0.00

Audio 12V_GND = 0.0

Audio 12V = 12.69

Power ON = 3.29

AC off DED = 3.33

Stby 3.3 = 3.33

After this I plugged in an HDMI feed, and was able to change input from the remote so the sound comes on but no picture. Same as original problem.

“Screen is "on" and is dark blue” means that your backlight works. Your error seems to originate on the main board. You do want to go ahead and check the connector from the power board to the main board and see if it delivers all the voltages to the main board. If it does it’s most likely the main board (BAL board) if it does not it’s your power board.

Post an image that shows all of your board and how they are arranged.

@mrpmoore those values look ok. This appears to be a problem with the main board. Possibly the video processor.....

by

That is what I suspected - but how can you tell it is the Main board and not the T-con.

by

I usually go for the main board if the on screen menu does not show as well. It's a bit of a rolling of the dice
