Why won't my xbox connect to wifi? what does "DNS" mean

my xbox won't connect to the wifi it keeps saying something about the "DNS", how do i fix it ?

Hi Lillie,

The internet thinks in IP Adresses, and a DNS converts text to ip adresses. So for example when you type in www.google.com the DNS converts www.google.com to for example 192.168.78.1.

DNS stands for Dynamic Name Service which is how a website name is changed into an IP address. When you try to reach google for example the word "google" gets translated into an IP address of the form "xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa".

When you have DNS issues, it is usually a problem with the local router. Try resetting your local router and then try again. Let us know the results.
