Not powering on, looking for a MB component.

Hey guys,

received this laptop from a friend who wanted me to take a look at it. It refuses to power on. I opened it up and see that a small chip which seems to be labelled "U29" has blown. Here's an imgur link to the culprit. Link

Google and the MSI have been no help. I would really like to try and source this chip. I can't read what is on it due to the damage. Anyone know what I could do? could it be a general purpose chip that could be sourced online, perhaps for power delivery? thanks guys.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@turnergraham reference designator U29 is a NC7SZ08P5X SC70 AND gate. Something like this is what you are looking for. Here is the datasheet for more information. ONSM S A0003589950 1You can use that to cross reference that with a supplier of your choice.

Hi @turnergraham

You can buy the schematics here and you should be able to search for your component there.
