iPhone won't turn on (maybe battery died)

I was using my iphone just the normal way... it had 1% and then it died. Nothing weird. Then I plugged my phone into a usb charger and waited until it powered on again. That didn't happen. I checked and cleaned the port and plugged it in again. After one hour of charging nothing changed. If I press a button the red battery icon pops up and then vanishes again. If I unplug my phone I see the red battery and the charger icon, but I only shows for 0.5 seconds before my iphone shuts down. Far less then it used to be showen. I think my battery won't charge further than just 1% (or so).

I can't go in recovery mode or anything else since my phone won't turn on.

Is my battery dead? or is it something else.

Thanks in advantage.

I'm using the latest IOS as of today (may 11).

Hey bud, it could just be a dead battery or it could be a few things:

Lint in charge port

Cheap lightening cable

Blown tristar

And so on.

Try charging over night and see if it works in the morning. Then I would first try a new Apple cable or replacement battery.
