my iphone works great when i am not at home they can hear me but when i get back home and call the same person back it is very muffled and they cant hear what i am say

It sounds like the reception signal is bad where you live. At other places you may hear them fine as they're cell towers near by. Where you live there may not. A house phone could be better for indoor calls :)
