CPU Fans Running High, Top Left Of iMac Gets Hot

I have an Imac 20 inch, I took the 500 gb hard drive out of a 21.5 inch and replace the 320 gb hard drive. I personally think everything worked fine. Lately the fans are running at top speeds, on Istat the numbers are as follows.

CPU fan 1198 RPM

Hard Drive 1198 RPM

Optical Drive 5097 RPM

Hard drive 18 0c

CPU 24 0c

CPU 25 0c

GPU Heat Sink 31

GPU 27

Ambient 18

Airport 23

I'm just curious, do I need a sensor for the hard drive or I need replace my hard drive. Somtimes the computer might freeze up and too and i'll see the beach ball, but very rare though.

best regards

I'd rather think that something is amiss with the optical drive sensor. The revs for CPU and HDD are quite normal and shouldn't be audible providing the fans are in sound condition. You mentioned the top left of the computer heating up. That is where the power supply sits and higher themperatures there are normal.
