Orange light coming from flash; no working flashlight

Hello,

I’ve had this iPhone for a while and my flashlight randomly stopped working at one point and never works till I unplug the flashlight/power button and reconnect it again. Here is the funny thing, when I go to take a picture with flash, the flash goes off but a very dimmed orange light. Do you know something I could do? I already replaced the part once.

The flash on the iPhone 6 has a dual colour LED. I would suspect that the driver circuit, which drives the two LED's independently, has failed at some level on the "cool" diode side. This could be as simple as a damaged pin on the connector to component damage on the logic board.

This would require a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.

I updated the iOS and it fixed the issue.

My flashlight would flash orange too. I noticed that when I took a photo with the flash on, it would make the flashlight work for a few minutes and then go back to flashing orange. I decided to update the iOS and BOOM! issue resolved.
