MacBook Pro Retina (2016 Function Keys) laptop won't turn on.

Hello,

Browsing the internet earlier today, the keyboard and trackpad froze. When it happened, I couldn't force close the application so I performed a force shut down. 15 minutes after turning it back on it froze again, turning itself off this time. Had no issues turning it on again. Used it for a little bit, closed the laptop (didn't shut it off), and put it away. Went back to it a couple hours later and the laptop was off (it had less than 30% battery last time I used it so I assumed it just died). I put the laptop on charge (USB-C charger), but there was no response from the laptop. Tried turning the laptop on, again, no response. I've held the button down for about 10-15 seconds, leaving breaks between each time, and no changes. I've changed the outlet for the battery, no changes. I've switched the ends of the USB-C charging cable around (had issues with one end of the cable not working in the laptop in the past, was solved by putting that end in the power adapter), no changes. I've tried resetting the System Management Controller, no changes. Laptop seems to be completely dead and unresponsive to anything I do.

I share the laptop with my sister. We've had it for about a year and a few months now. First time I've used it in about a week, and first time I've noticed these issues. Sister said she hasn't noticed any issues. Everything seemed to be working fine (save the keyboard getting stuck occasionally, but I know that's a common issue).

As far as I know, there has been no water damage. We're both careful with it, so I doubt it has been dropped or damaged in a similar fashion.

Any suggestions on what this could be and what I could do to fix it? I haven't tried disconnecting or removing anything such as the battery or cleaning inside the laptop as I'm a little inexperienced with opening laptops up. Don't want to stuff it up.

There is very little you can do with this system. Best to visit an Apple Store and let them take a look. This series has had a few issues which have been covered under warranty. I still would complain about the keyboard. If you press after you get it fixed I think you'll get your system exchanged with a newer keyboard system which is much better!
