My internal display isn't working after a spark could but still boots.

Hello there,

I've owned this Macbook Pro Mid 2012 with an i5 variant model for quite a while now(for a near 4 years of usage),

a week ago I was trying to tighten this laptop's wobbling screen as I have been over-using it for my high school work. After managed to take it apart and successfully re-tightened the screw that was holding the hinge I was a little bit careless when reassembling it back on, and the display connector(LVDs cable) touched and hit the logic board and there was a spark coming through the logic board afterwards(near the lvds connector section of the board) since i have the battery connected to the board, although the system was unplugged from the charging port when i was assembling it back on.

I was frustrated that I believed to shortened the logic board or the lvds cable although I'm not sure which section of the board was shortened, but still I could smell a burning smell from the board I believe. Eventually, I powered the system on after managed to assemble it and there was no internal display boot screen showing up from my mac.

I thought this machine was done for at this point. But i managed to plugged in an external thunderbolt cable into my external monitor to test if the machine is completely dead, and I managed to get it to boot successfully on the external monitor, although the internal monitor seems to be dead and I'd like to have it fixed.

So what is wrong with my machine? Is it just shortened LVDS cable or the actual lvds connector of the internal screen?

Pardon my technical terms if I got them wrong.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.
