Bought a new lcd and charging dock for my 3g 16g and now it charges because the vibration button works but it will not connect to itunes and the screen will not respond. Can anyone help me figure this one out?

Sounds like you need to purchase the LCD assembly,as far as charging, does the computer recognize the iPhone with the usb sound, if it doesnt recognize the iphone then the charging port is bad in the iphone or the mainboard got broke from being stepped on,,try holding the power and the home button for 10 seconds at the same time, (No longer) see if it reboots.

why did you replace both parts? do you have any display or just no touch function?

It would charge at first and it didnt touch. Then it stopped holding a charge from any charger. so i ordered a charging dock. Thebroken that how i iphone lcd was broken thats how i recieved it from a friend. then i bought a new lcd (1st time) unfornuately it was stepped on a year later and cracked again. It charges cause it vibrates but it doesnt connect to itunes and the lcd doesnt come on for me this time.
