MacBook a1342 won't start even after replacing battery and charger

I have a used macbook a1342 laptop. It worked great for months after I got it. One day it went dead as I was using it on battery power. It would not restart after I tried the two chargers I had on hand. The indicator lights on the chargers would not show amber or green. I bought another charger, hooked it up and the amber light came on at the connection. I left it connected for over 24 hours, but the light on the connector never went to green and the macbook never started. I bought a replacement battery and installed it. Amber light on the connector came on, but macbook would not start. Disconnected the charging cable and reconnected it, but no amber light this time and macbook would not restart. I've tried resetting the SMC but nothing changes.

Any ideas?

More than likely the logic board has corrosion on it and will require component-level repair. If you're capable of disassembling it, you can try replacing just the Magsafe board, which could be the problem, but if that doesn't work then it's the logic board.
