Touch pad isn't responding when I want it to go to the left side?

I keep going to use my touch pad on my Acer Chromebook laptop and whenever I want to go to the left it doesn't go. It only works to go up and down and to the right. May it be dust underneath so its not indicating what I want it to do or? Please help!
