Why isn't my brush roll moving?
My brush roll won't move because there is something stuck.

Open up your vacuum cleaner and check the belt. It likely has snapped or snagged and needs replacement.

ok, I ll try your recommendation, but still need the replacement that goes closer to the bus . The roller cover please. Would you help me?

the brush is ran by a belt. check to see if it has come off. you will have to remove the bottom but it is usually a phillips head screwdriver to do so.

My ion xrt shuts off in seconds if the brush roller is engaged. Inside the mechanism I found that the belt would shift over essentially jamming the brush. Turns out that the gear bearing is damaged such that under load the gear wheel tilts causing the situation that ends with the belt shifting over. Hair was found wrapped deeply in the spindle the brush attaches to. It is too confining to be able to clean out the hair without disassembling the spindle from the gear wheel. They are connected with an unmovable axle so disassembly seems impossible. So screwed!

I have taken the brush assembly apart and cleaned any buildup which was minimal. It will spin sporatically. Most of the time not.
