iPod doesn't turn on

I have an iPod Nano 7g and it doesn't turn on. Just a black screen. I have tried the home/sleep button + home button but that doesn't work. I have tried to turn it on. Nothing. I have left it charging for many many hours. Nothing. I have tried the recovery mode and iTunes method. Nothing. I have tried other cables and charger.

The iPod has not been dropped and no signs of physical damage. I guess the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sounds like one of three things: screen, battery or logic board. Try replacing the battery, and see if it powers up. Before you do, does the device get hot while it is charging, meaning the power is reaching the battery?

No the iPod doesn't get hot while charging it. In fact, I don't think the iPod is charging at all. Which I conclude is the battery.
