Water damaged, can't turn on after cleaning

Hi there,

My MacBook Pro was damage by the water (seriously damaged by flood), as I only realize when get home (may have been damage for couple hours).

Symptoms:

  • Can't turn on
  • No light on MagSafe LED
  • Batt LED will light up when charger is PLUGGED IN and battery check button pressed

What have been done so far: Whole board was taken out and cleaned

Can you tell us which model you have.

Not sure the exact model, but I saw once it was "MacBook Pro 13" 2010 Mid"

Sadly, I think you'll need at least a new logic board. You might find looking for a used MacBook Pro as a cheaper option here and transfer your drive or files to it. As we don't know what else is damaged here.

It might be wise to first see if you can recover your data which is on the drive by seeing if a second Mac can access the files using an adapter like this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter
