Micro-usb port won't recognise inputs any more.
I use my tablet for gaming with micro usb-otg connection to connect a joypad. I also use it to plug in a usb midi controller for making music. It was all working fine till about an hour ago, I tried to plug in an electric piano (from the late 80s) which has a midi output, via the two midi cables into a usb, then into a micro usb otg. The tablet recognised it for a moment then stopped. Since then, I have tried the midi controller, two gamepads and different otg connectors and the tablet will not recognise anything. It will also not charge if I plug it in while it is switched off and will only charge if it is switched on. I take it I have been pretty stupid attempting to plug an 80s midi device which is plugged in from the mains and have fried the tablet somehow with a power surge or something? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with this and is it repairable?
Is this a good question?

Simon Elder you've tried a factory reset already? What is exact model is your Tab?

It's a Galaxy Tab A6. I thought that might be something to try but I haven't done so yet. I have one game in particular which I don't want to lose my progress on and I think that might happen, even if I transfer it to the SD card. I think if I give a screenshot of the individual number of the game to the developers, they can rectify it later. I will give it a go.
