Why won't the machine start?

The lawn mower went dead so I charged the battery. Still won't start with the battery charged. I turn the key and nothing is happening at all. I am thinking that the problem might stem from a part under the seat, but I do not know the name of that part as this is a second hand mower and it didn't come with a manual.

I am saying this because there have been times when the mower wouldn't start and I wiggle the part under the seat and it starts up.

Hoping you can help.

@saxaphone what exact model is your mower? The part under the seat is most likely the seat safety switch. It could be the cause of your problem if it has failed. Take some pictures of that part and post it with your question. It will help us to see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

Since it is a safety switch you do not want to permanently disable, but you can do so for testing purposes. Use this video to get the idea on how to do that. Once we see what your setup looks like we can give you more detail on that as well.

The model # is 944 600701. I have to recharge the camera batteries so the photo will be posted later on.

@saxaphone looks like a Canadian model number. Definitely needs images ;-)
