My tv won't power on

My vizio m652i-b2 tv won't come on after a power cycle and seating. Yet the usb slot on the tv is able to charge my phone and work. So there is power going through the tv, just not powering on. I even tried using the power button on the tv to turn it on and it won't come on. I do have a tech to come fix it, but I am wondering if its something I should worry about for future use, or is this a one time fluke thing. I have had it for 2.5 years and this is the first issue, but I don't want to have future issues arise when I could just buy a new tv. Is this a common thing?
