USB hub clamped to air vents =Danger?

I'm considering a USB hub for my iMac. I like these ones on amazon that clip on http://a.co/hwCwlI3.

My concern is that they take up a portion of the vent on the bottom right edge of the screen. Does anyone know if this is contrary to Apple's operating guide. Apple support couldn't answer. They told me to contact the manufacturer ...who obviously is not going to say..oh BTW use at your own peril your machine might overheat and your AppleCare will void because of misuse.

Thanks to anyone with a definite answer. xoxo :)

It shouldn't have a drastic effect on the cooling of your machine. We currently have one very similar to this connected to our iMac that runs constantly 6 days out of the week. So in conclusion, it will not cause any over heating problems for you.

Thanks for the speedy answer!! I decided to err on the side of caution and ordered a hub that rests at an angle and will fit nicely on the base of the stand. http://a.co/0XRqOgw My iMac is the 4Ghz i7 with the upgraded graphics. They have a rep for running hotter. Don't know if your's is the same model. Having said that, I don't hear the fans when & if they run but I can feel the heat radiating off it. Cheers & thanks once again xoxo :)

Yeah that model is definitely going to output more heat than ours as it is just integrated graphics and an i5 processor. Glad to have been of help though :)
