Why does one key (4) always jump out of its bay?

Evevry time that I press the (4) key on its top half, it jumps out of its bay I have to put it again on the keyboard. Anybody have any clue on that?

The key cap may have defective pivot pins. My experience is that some times you press the key cap back into position but most times it does not stay in position. If your laptop is in warranty then contact Dell for a replacement keyboard, if it is not in warranty then you can do a search for a replacement keyboard. Take care to get the correct keyboard for your model laptop.

The key cap mechanism pivot points are easy to damage if the key cap pops off.
