Constance Fielder, Could be a internal fuse/power cord/switch/connection/motor/etc. faulty. Try another outlet in the home in case the outlet is faulty(blown fuse/tripped breaker). If under warranty return for repair/replacement/refund. If not under warranty and plugging into another known good working power source did not work, the machine will have to be disconnected from the power and disassembled(first check to see if your model has a fuse right in the plug, that may be blown). With the machine apart the cord/connections/power switch/limit switch if equipped/etc. can all be checked to find the fault with a DVOM or perhaps visually. If not comfortable working on the vacuum, have a good local vacuum/small electronics shop have a look, diagnose and estimate repair. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
