My door to the battery compartment no longer latches. So, the connection is not made and the camera can't turn on, unless I manually hold the door closed. Pretty tricky way to take a photo : p

@patjerry ,Pat, Maybe try a search on Ebay, Amazon,etc. for a replacement battery cover or pop into a local camera shop and see if they have one from a parts camera(as this door may be used on different models) or can order one in for you. The camera shop may even have a quick fix if your old cover is still intact and may be able to tweak the latch. Good luck.
