Water Damage, phone works, screen is white, keeps rebooting?

Have a new iphone 3gs 16g that was dropped in the toilet. Got it out but it just kept having the vibrate go off continually. Had it looked at twice, was sonically cleaned twice, lcd replaced. Phone screen is still almost all white but programs and things still work, just cant see to work them. Also everytime you plug it in to charge it, the phone starts to reboot, it also reboots after you have used it for a few minutes. Is there a fix or should I trash it and buy new??? Any suggestions I greatly appreciate.

Thanks,

Matt

there's lots of advice on this site for water damage- just search...

it sounds like the back light has been damaged-either on connector 1 or at the coil. replacing the LCD will not cure that problem. cleaning the connector/replacing it on the motherboard or looking at a way to replace the coil will.- there is a link to the solution for the 3gs somewhere on this site. involves jumping a wire from coil to connector 1. (try searching markus weiher's answers) or google.

as to the rebooting? most batteries die after a submersion, won't hold a charge. try swapping it. if that doesn't work you can check dock connector. and if that doesn't work...don't trash the phone. sell it for spares or repairs, someone out there will gladly fix it.
