Power adapter is not Working Correctly Alienware 14 (2013 Model)
Recently fixed up a older alienware 14 r3 (one with a gtx 765m) and have been using a cheapo 150 watt power adapter for a few months. Never had a issue with it, just it was a bulky charger. I recently ordered a official 150w because it was half the size (ebay listing said 100% genuine for which a friend has a similar charger) and every time i plug the charger in, the blue light around the plug turns off. From reading online, this means a problem with the board or plug, yet the cheapo charger i have works just fine. I have tried a 65 watt charger with the laptop and it did the same thing but was thinking at the time was because the laptop needed 150 Watts at a minimum, that they may have been normal. But the Puzzling thing about the charger, if i boot the computer up with the charger plugged in, it would work just fine. For hours on end. The second i unplug it and re-insert it the blue around the adapter does turn off and there is no charge. Replugging it into the ac outlet brings the light back on but putting into the laptop causes it the repeat and turn off. Not exactly sure what is going on, but the charger does work on other dell laptops just fine. If anybody could let me know if it is the Motherboard, Plug, just the charger itself, or something i could try, would be appreciated.
Is this a good question?
Check the BIOS settings, see if the power adapter is recognized as well as correct wattage. You can also run diagnostics to see if the power adapter is working correctly.

Make sure you have the latest bios update.
