iSight camera and optical drive stopped working, are they related?

Recently my iSight camera randomly stopped working. Green light comes on, but no picture shows on the screen. About 2 weeks later my optical drive stopped working properly. It won't read CD/DVD's, when it tries it ejects them right away.

First time I noticed my disc drive acting up was when I was trying to burn a CD. It got almost all the way through the writing process and ejected the disc and sited a disc error. Do you think these issues may be related? Software v. Hardware problems?

You should try Updating the software. Go to apple and download the updates once again do it manual way 'cause it won't automatically updated by itself. or two other options.

1) reinstall the the whole MB by fixing repair permissions or the Disc.

2) Loose connections in the MB. The connections are on the center of of MB below the fan.
