Camera won't turn on (more details, not the same guy as the previous)

As in the other question title like this, I can seemingly charge the battery through the USB on the side of the camera and it will light green on the on/off button, but I cannot turn it on.

When I connect the USB to my computer, the camera gets registered for a split second, and the cuts off imedietely. Plugged in here, it lights green on the on/off button, and quiclky by the flash icon right next next to the display button.

When I plug it into the PC, the on/off button lights green, and when it does that, I can press and hold it, and it turns off, and if I press the button within a few seconds it lights back up, connects, and disconnects. This leads me to believe that the button works, or that it is atleast not completely dead.

Thank you in advance.

the USB ports on Nikon DSLRs are for data transfer only, you can not charge the battery through the USB port, you'll need to use the MH-25 mains charger to charge Nikon EN-EL15 battery.
